are you still looking at how to make this downloadable through the Itch app?

Hi, I have read the documentation to get it compatible with the itch app. Unfortunately said documentation is geared towards developers much savvier than I. I would need a human being to help me with it... LOL!

hello! I'm not sure how to explain the bug or issue here, but i will try to do so anyway.

for me, whenever i press z to attack, there's this huge blank box appearing blocking my view.( it goes from one side to the other,sliding i guess. the character sprite changes to this huge blank box and back to normal after the attack.) that's all. it would also be great if i could change the movement from arrows to WASD. ( have a nice day )

Hello. You can rebind keys with F1. As for the visual bug, this is the first report I have heard of this.

soo, apparently, this issue is prevalent in another game i played as well.  for that game specifically, it only happens to the characters in the party, whenever a battle starts, all i can see is  black boxes of texture covering each character, the enemies are alright tho,  maybe one of the plugins is at fault, or smth else.- in any case, i have no idea.

I like it, but it's laggy. It's also a little... Mundane, I guess? Better than a visual novel, but gameplay could use some more oomph.

Thanks for the feedback. Since this is a game in development, it is constantly being refined with new gameplay features. Stay tuned, i listen to all feedback from players.

is there some sort of gallery that i can access at some point to re-watch animations?

Hi. This is a bug that has been reported commonly when using nonstandard keyboards. It is being patched out of the next version, which will be released hopefully before the end of the month.

The game closes on start

Hi there! I love seeing new games and creators sharing their ideas and stories, and I can't wait to get into this game! I say that due to not being able to start the game. Apparently, in the current download there is a missing .dll file.

I am going to redownload the public version again to see if that was the issue, since it wasn't in the zip I downloaded, I'll edit once I figure it out. Thought I should mention it here!

Hi! If the missing DLL file is MSVCR110.DLL, then you need to update your drivers. MSVCR110 is found with Microsoft Visual C Runtime v.110

I'm having this exact issue now, my drivers are all up to date

Make sure you have Microsoft Visual C Runtime 110 installed. Sometimes this comes with windows updates, sometimes you need to download it manually.

Do you know where i can install it manually? im not super computer savvy with these things

Edit: I got it to work finally, I just found a batched version of ALL of the MSVCR dll files and that seemed to work. Diving into the game now!

the game seems a bit... slow, like the characters move very slowly and specially on battles it fells like playing a online game with 500 ping, i was zig zagging to walk faster before realising i can dash, but overall this game is really cool the art and setting are really good i just fell it leaves players kinda lost, maybe if there was a menu showing the controls it would be easier

Thanks. For the slowness, remember to have the most up to date graphics drivers, and ensure you are using your video card instead of integrated graphics.

Is the counter window like a single frame?  It's crazy hard to pull off on a lot of bosses, which is frustrating because you can't progress beyond a certain point without pulling it off.  Really needs some difficulty scaling or to make the counter mechanism easier to pull off

Hi there. No, the counter window is not a single frame. You just have to hit block a short moment before the enemy attacks hit you. The only exception is with Orc attacks that come after an eye gleam. Those attacks are not counterable. Don't forget magic!

So none of the pit boss attacks can be countered?  His head is off screen so, can't really tell

Taking on the pit boss requires alot of luck and fast moving. No, you cannot counter his attacks. But to ease your frustration, beating him won't give you anything in this build. (maybe the next one).

Can't move after playing the Tutorial! :( 

I have recieved multiple reports of this, and it seems the common fix is to reload the game (don't worry about progress, it saves automatically). I am actively looking for a way to prevent this from coming up in the future.

Hey there! Sadly had an issue once getting to the Overworld (The first path after the opening cutscene and tutorials), and was not able to continue with unresponsive controls. I tried rebinding my keys in the F1 menu to no avail, and no dice with a plug-in controller either. This was on v0.2.5. If you have a resolution, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for making games!

Can you tell me what form of input you are using? 0.2.5 is optimized for keyboard only, and has limited support for controllers. 0.3.0 will have mouse support, and may have controller support depending on the issues associated with not having it.

I am having the same issue, no keyboard function once you pass the tutorial/intro scenes and get to the first free-movement area.

are you using the regular arrow keys or the numpad? Also is numlock on?

both, and i rarely use the ten-key addition so I have reason to believe it was on, I can double check however


edit: It just works now all of a sudden, regardless of whether numlock is on or off, huh

still strange it happened to more than one person. Glad it works and stay tuned for future updates. I'm excited for you to see the next one.

Hey there, sorry for the wait on the reply. I was using a keyboard at the time of this, just went back in a tried it again, with the same result. I've got another keyboard I'll be switching to soon that might somehow help? Either way I thought you should know so you could take a look. Thanks!

A few people have reported this same issue. It is difficult to discern as I cannot duplicate the problem. For some people, the problem fixes itself. I am actively looking into this to see if I can patch it out

Having issues with opening the player for the spicy version. It says cannot proceed because MSVCR110.dll was not found. I've reinstalled but it doesn't do anything.

You will have to download Microsoft Vicual C Runtime V. 1.10 or higher. usually running windows update or googling MSVCR110.dll fixes that issue. Pretty common for Machines when drivers are not up to date

At what parts? Also let me know yourPC specs

Issues in the order I encountered them:

  • Took me a while to figure out how to get past the very first wall of text. Either include some standard UI control scheme (with Enter or Space), or explicitely state what keys to use at the very beginning.
  • Walls of text are very slow to fully unwrap. Wish there was a way to speed them up without skipping them completely. By the way, not being able to replay Lorestones after accidentally skipping them is sad.
  • Probably an engine issue. On laptop, by default, the game runs on the integrated graphic card; this leads to bad performances, and to a nasty bug that causes the picture to completely freeze indefinitely after a few minutes of play. Took me some tinkering in nVidia’s control panel to get it running on the dedicated graphic card instead.
  • The colored text in some dialogue boxes is hard to read. Most notably the main character’s greyish-blue text, which I’ve mostly seen on top of blueish-greenish backgrounds. Not enough contrast between the two.
  • In the first battle against orcs, the second orc triggers a dialogue box. If you defeat him before ending the dialogue, you’ll become unable to act against the third orc, and forced to wait for defeat.

hi! The bugs you mentioned have been fixed and will be implemented in 0.2.5. The only thing you mentioned that is unchanged is the lorestones- you can always go back and reread lorestones. There is just a few second timer after finishing before you can do it again.
